How long are the programs?
In general, from 30 to 60 days. Treatment may be longer for some patients based on their clinical progress, and on recommendations from the therapist. All programs at The Recovery Place have the ability to gradually decrease the intensity and level of care, while continually increasing levels of responsibility and self-sufficiency. This treatment approach, coupled with a structured housing environment, fosters both independence and interdependence.
After completing all of their individual treatment plan goals in our full-day treatment program, clients are encouraged to continue their treatment at a less intensive level of care. The Recovery Place provides an intensive outpatient program to address this need. We also offer a wide variety of aftercare services to help our clients post-discharge.

What if the patient is already on medications?
Each client’s past history and current medication needs are assessed. An individualized treatment plan is then created, based on medical and clinical recommendations.

Can family visit?
Absolutely! Family involvement is encouraged, and considered an important part of the treatment process. Visits are based on clinical progress and approval from the patient’s therapist.
As the client’s treatment plan progresses, an ongoing dialogue with families is integrated into the recovery process. Families are encouraged to share and discuss issues that have affected them over the years. Healing is an important part of recovery for both the patient and family. Family therapy is highly individualized at The Recovery Place.
Education on addictions, dual diagnoses, and other mental health disorders is provided to families and other loved ones. Information is presented not only at The Recovery Place, but also via telephone, live computer chat, and other media methods, for those living at a distance from the treatment center.

What if the person has warrants pending and legal issues?
We assist our clients in finding the appropriate resources to help with any legal issues that may be present during their treatment period. We also work closely with legal aid courts and probation officers to be sure our clients are in compliance with any current court orders or probationary requirements.

What about privacy and confidentiality?
The Recovery Place is in compliance with the Standards for Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information ("Privacy Rule”) that establishes a set of national standards for the protection of certain health information.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services established the Privacy Rule in order to implement the requirement of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (more familiarly known as HIPAA).
The Privacy Rule standards address the use and disclosure of an individual’s health information. A major goal of the Privacy Rule is to assure that an individual’s health information is properly protected, while allowing the flow of health information needed to provide and promote high quality health care. It also assures the protection of the public's health and well being.

Do you provide sober living (drug-free living) arrangements?
Clients participating in any of our full-day programs return to a beautiful community housing center located just steps from our treatment facility. On-site rehabilitation technicians are available at the housing center 24/7, to assist patients who are more resistant to treatment, or to help with any crises that may occur outside of normal treatment hours. Consistent daily communication occurs between the technical staff and the clinical team, so that the entire day and night periods are seamlessly devoted to the client’s recovery.
Our sober living facility provides beautiful apartments, surrounded by common areas with a barbecue and pool area for socialization. Full advantage is taken of the beautiful Florida weather.
Our community housing encourages clients to participate in local recovery-rich activities (both physical and spiritual), and provides ample opportunity to practice new life skills and gain confidence.
Each sober-living residence is comfortably furnished with contemporary furniture and cable TV. All the comforts of home are provided, so that time can be spent on recovery.
Scheduled supervised trips around the beautiful Fort Lauderdale area are integrated into the treatment programs. Relearning to enjoy the simple pleasures and activities of life is one of the most important keys to rehabilitation success.
