Addiction Help for Families
Thousand of family members and friends of alcoholics and addicts have been right where you are now; tired, scared, frustrated! You have already taken a courageous step... looking for information and help.
Alcohol and drug addiction is a serious, progressive disease of the body, mind and spirit. The disease of addiction is often described as an allergy — a physical reaction in which the high from the "first one" is constantly chased, often leading to a non-functional life in and out of jails and hospitals, and if left unchecked, too often death.
Most family members and friends would prefer not to "air their problems in public," rather opting to handle these problems privately. Unfortunately, in most cases, the addict or alcoholic’s disease is so far progressed that only trained professionals can help.
Our philosophy and clinical interventions are based on the belief that addiction affects each member of the family. Because family members and significant others are considerably affected by addiction and mental health disorders, their involvement is critical to the recovery process.
We strive to develop a therapeutic alliance with concerned loved ones during the treatment process by maintaining an ongoing dialogue with families as clinical interventions are revised and strategized by the treatment team. Families and their loved ones (whether living in-state or out) are given an opportunity to learn about addictions and disorders. They are encouraged to discuss issues that have affected them for many years and heal together.
