The evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is recommended when a person has safe living conditions and a daily structure that is supportive for recovery. This level of care is designed to encourage patients’ functioning in the community while participating in a more intensive form of treatment than traditional outpatient settings can offer. The Recovery Place's evening IOP program provides services three nights a week in a manner that would allow a person to work or pursue academic interests.

Intensive outpatient programming is most effective for persons who are progressing in their treatment, are able to carry out their daily responsibilities and commit to ongoing treatment. In addition to intensive outpatient treatment, clients in the program are required to attend at least three 12-step meetings weekly. Persons assessed to be appropriate for this level of care receive group therapy, an individualized treatment plan, relapse prevention therapy and process and skills based groups.

Persons who wish to pursue intensive outpatient treatment are encouraged to increase their level of independence by moving to a sober living environment. Sober Living provides a safe, structured and drug free environment which gives individuals the opportunity to put into practice the principles of recovery and to become fully immersed in the recovering community.

Men and women are housed separately and work closely with sponsors to create a safe and supportive environment and establish a solid foundation for recovery. The founders of The Recovery Place have longstanding relationships and connections to multiple sober living facilities.
